As every year, Gala Abraço returns to Teatro São Luiz on 1 December, World AIDS Day. The transformist show, which features cross-dressers, drag queens, trans and LGBTQIA+ artists and allies, celebrates the importance of inclusion and solidarity in an evening for human rights and equality. This is a gala full of joy, fun, glamour and with a great atmosphere, to which Teatro São Luiz has been associated for over a decade. Founded in 1992 by Carlos Castro – then the Cross-Dressing Evening Gala – this event has always been a chance to fight against stigma and prejudice, and to champion the work of Associação Abraço, which has provided support to people living with HIV and AIDS since its inception.
